Custom Ceramic Coffee Mug.

Fellow Troopers,

      We have added a Stoneware Ceramic Coffee Mug (photo below) to our online store. These are stoneware coffee mugs (8 to 10 oz) come in a beige or green ceramic with the 4th Cav crossed sabers in raised relief.  These look great.  We are selling the mug for $25.00.  This price includes the shipping/insurance for most zip codes. Custom Art Print: "The Wall"

Fellow Troopers,

     We have a number of custom art prints by Bob Chaplin of the poem, "The Wall".  These are high quality and would look great matted and framed. These prints are 11"x14" and are printed on 100% Rag Parchment acid free stock. They originally sold for $50.  We will be selling these for $20. $5 of which will cover 1st class shipping/handling, the rest goes to the 3/4 Cavalry Chapter's general fund

Our print will look similar to the one below and be custom personalized ""In memory of the Fighting Men of Mackenzie's Raiders, Welcome Home. Bob".  This is a photo and does not show the actual quality or personalization of the print.  Please support the association by the purchase of one of these fine art prints.

A second version of the art print is embossed with an image of the Purple Heart.  These sold originally for $200. The Purple Heart image is shaded only and not in color.  These are not addressed to the Mackenzie's Raiders and are only signed by the artist.  We will be selling these for $50.

Veterans Day 2012 - Washington D.C

     Our Fellow 3/4 Cavalry veterans participate in placing a 25th Infantry Division wreath at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. on November 12th, 2012.

Veteran’s Day Mini-Reunion 3/4 Cav

Fellow Troopers,
     For the past several years, a small group of Centaurs from Trp D (Air), 3d Sqdn, 4th Cav, and Trp F (Air), 4th Cav has been joining together to honor Veteran’s Day and the men we served with.  In the past, attendance has been by troopers who served with either Trp D or Trp F, with an occasional visitor from one of the ground troops.  This year, we are welcoming anyone who served with the 3d Squadron, 4th Cavalry to join us.
     The gathering will be at the Clarion Hotel, 530 Richards Drive, Manhattan, KS.  The room rate will be $94.00 plus tax per night.  The room cost includes breakfast.  We have set aside a block of 30 rooms for the nights of 9 – 11 November.  You can reserve a room by calling 785-539-5311.  Tell them it is for the Centaurs Vietnam Group and you will get the special price.  The special price is good through 19 October, so make your reservations early.  You can always cancel if you can’t make it to Manhattan.

     Since Veteran’s Day falls on Sunday, the Manhattan Veteran’s Day celebration (parade and memorial service) will be Friday morning.  A tour of the Flint Hills Discovery Center is scheduled for Friday afternoon.  Saturday includes a visit to the Kansas Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the museums at Fort Riley, and dinner at the Little Apple Brewery.  Sunday’s activities are still being worked on.

New 3/4 Cavalry Shirt Available

Fellow Troopers,

     A new 3/4 Cavalry shirt will be on sale at the reunion.  $22 for M thru XL sizes and $27 for 2X and 3X.  The 3/4 Cav store will be set up in the Crown Room on the 10th floor.  The shirt will not be available in the online store until after the reunion.

Reunion Update

Fellow Troopers,

Just a couple of items for the reunion.

The Ft. Campbell tour on May 19th is full.  No more slots are available.

The tour on May 17th to the Hermitage (home of President Andrew Jackson) has only 10 slots left. If you have not registered for the reunion or want to add this tour to your current registration you need to do it ASAP. The registration form can be downloaded here.

Reunion registrations are due to us NLT April 30th. We have to provide vendors with numbers for tours, meals, etc. The registration form can be downloaded here.

Don't forget to bring an item for our raffle after the banquet on May 19th. 

We need a CVC helmet for the 'missing man table'.  If you have one let us know.  Thanks!  Dale Dow is providing this item.  Thanks Dale!

Golfers need to meet in the hotel lobby NLT 7:30 on May 17th.

To use the hotel's airport shuttle service you need to provide Dave Cox with your flight information (airline, flight number, and arrival time).

Cu Chi University Cap

Henry Erber, A Trp 68/69, came up with a unique hat that I am sure you will want to own. As an alumnus of Cu Chi University you will want to show others of your attendance at Cu Chi University with this unique hat.

Additionally this hat will help raise monies for Chaplain Roe's War Orphans Mission in Iraq that the association voted to support during our 2010 reunion. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this hat (about $5.00) will go to the mission. This mission fund is supported with your voluntary donations.
